KRISTY'S MINI MENAGERIE

Hello and welcome, anybody who may come across this little blog of mine! I've just started this blog, and plan on focusing on miniatures, animals, and miniature animals. However, I'm also hoping it can be a fun place to talk about just about anything. We'll see.........

An Itty Bitty Thank You

People in the miniature community, both artists and collectors, seem to be unusually kind and friendly. But I was blown away by a recent customer of mine. She actually paid me more than what I was asking, and told me she thought that what she paid was more fair a price than what I was asking. Can you believe that?? WOW! So I wanted to give a little something to this special person. He's not much, in fact he's very tiny, but I hope it will put a smile on her face.

  1. What a lovely thing for her to have done Kristy. I bet she was right about the price she thought you should have gotten too. Most of us under price our work.
That itty bitty duckling sure put a smile on my face. I am sure she will love, love , love it!!!

  5. Thank you Catherine, Robin, Carolyn and Eva! I really feel it's such a silly little thing, but if she ever needs to commission another critter from me, I plan on giving her a very good deal.
Carolyn, geez, you're embarrassing me, LOL. I'm not such a "gem" and you know it!

  8. Kristy, that little chick is too cute, I will bet my bottom dollar she will smile from ear to ear :). So this is universal? Most people into miniatures are unusually sweet? I thought it's just me being ever so lucky to have met the nicest ones. :)

  9. Thanks Susan! I really do think it's a universal thing. Unless you and I both have just been extremely lucky, LOL.

  11. OH KRISTY!!!!! He is a love!!! No, he is a LURV!! And it is true- there are some collectors that think you deserve much more, and they take it upon themselves to pay more, without even asking!!!

The miniature world is full of THE kindest, most generous people in the world, for real. I have never felt as connected to a bunch of people, ever. And most I have never met!! Hopefully, that will change very soon ;-). Love them all!!!!

Kiva, if you ever just say you love something of mine, I'll know it's not LURV worthy, LMAO!!
Kim, not really - I can be a big brat sometimes - ask Carolyn, ROFL.

  16. I had the same thing happen. Guess it shows we aren't pricing our handmades correctly.

  17. Maybe so Leedra, though there are others who want to play the bargaining game, lol.
This woman was an artist, and I think other artists especially understand and appreciate the time and work that goes into a piece. So I'm curious Leedra, was your customer also an artist?
