KRISTY'S MINI MENAGERIE

Hello and welcome, anybody who may come across this little blog of mine! I've just started this blog, and plan on focusing on miniatures, animals, and miniature animals. However, I'm also hoping it can be a fun place to talk about just about anything. We'll see.........

Splish Splash, a Walnut Shell Bath

Another walnut shell and mouse - didn't I tell you there were endless possibilities for a walnut shell, LOL. Well, it's not a real walnut of course, but they're pretty simple to make in clay.
I decided to make a little mushroom stand for this one since I know that the owner won't be displaying it inside a dollhouse. :-)

  7. THANK YOU!!!
Glenda, seriously it's soooo simple! Maybe I should do a little tutorial, but I just wonder how many people would be interested in making a walnut shell out of clay? Hmmm, me thinks not too many, LOL!

  8. Kristy, I have to agree with Glenda..simple?..well, you make it look simple, and I have made apples in mini too that were not simple..you'd think roll a little ball, put a lil twig and tiny leaf in the top...viola!....NOT! I love this little guy in his "simple" walnut shell..rubber ducky is too cute too. Hope you have a WONDERFUL Christmas Kristy, can't wait to see what you bring us in 2011! xoxox Christel

Thank you Jeannette, but honestly your creativity (and all of you miniaturists and bear makers creativity) always amazes me! I'm so glad I started "blogging" - there's so much I would have missed.
Hahaha Elly!!! Thank you!! You KNOW I'll make more mice in tubs. ;)

  14. Oh no! He is soooooo cute and again already adopted. I also have been to late for the mouse in the walnut sled. The time difference between our countries is NOT amusing. When you put something in your shop, the chances are great, that I'm sound asleep. But I don't give up my hope. I'm planing a scene with mice. When I start with it, I'll let you know, because one of these mice should come from your creative hands. Have a wonderful christmastime Andrea

  15. I'm totally on Glenda's and Christel's side... for a magician like you it may be simple to do a walnut shell in clay, if I want to have one for a miniature project I have to keep my fingers crossed that a walnut's shell will stay in halves after meeting the nutcracker (LOL). As usual I love your little mouse, the amount of details you've put in this scene is amazing.

    Hugs

  20. Gosh, thank you so much everyone!
Andrea, this one is a Christmas present but I can't say to who because sometimes they visit my blog and it would ruin the surprise -shhhhh. But I think I like making mice best of all, so you know there will always be more mice to come.
LOL, you guys crack me up!!! I'm dead serious, there's nothing to the walnut shell. Ok, I'll try to do a tutorial (it will be my first one, so it should be interesting if not ridiculous), and then you'll see just how easy it is. It might have to wait until after Christmas though. Sheesh, seriously?? Do you guys REALLY want to know how I make a polymer clay walnut shell? It seems like such a silly "how to" project, LOL.

  21. How sweet! Love the little mouse! There are even bubbles in the bath!!! Just precious!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Thank you Kathi! The little bubbles are easy to do as well. They are just some clear glass beads that were added to the last layer of resin. I think there are better way to make bubbles, but I don't know how.
