Bedtime for Bunny
I really love the little animals I see wearing clothes, but I'm so hopeless with sewing (or gluing for that matter) fabric. So I tried something new for me. This bunny's pajamas were made of clay, and I applied some flocking to them to try to make them look a bit fuzzy. Oh how I wish I could have made some real little pajamas for him. :(

ReplyDeleteAdorable as all you little critters are . I also suck at gluing and sewing clothes . Can I suggest you try piecing the clothes on using an iron and some of that iron basting tape instead . I think it would be a bit easier with such tiny little clothes .

ReplyDeleteI agree totally! these have got to be THE cutes things on the planet! Every time you create something new it simply amazes me at your talent!!! The PJs are awesome, and do look fuzzy! can't tell they were created from clay at all. Now, how in the world could you create such a tiny pair of PJs out of material? Oh he is so cute, making his clothes would be sooo difficult I think. Doll makers seem to cut out the shapes and glue them onto the dolls, then cover the joins with trim, but don't know how that would work with simple outfits. Perhaps fine felt which can be moulded a bit into shape for sleeves and legs, cut out in one piece than glued down the back and covered with tiny buttons. Sounds simple but would it work?@#

ReplyDeleteI am going to try crepe paper to dress my next tiny doll or what ever... I think it will look OK. These people have real good crepe papers if you ever want to try it.

ReplyDeleteThank you everyone!! And thanks for the tiny clothes making suggestions. I'm such a damn clutz with the tiny pieces of fabrics (including felt), in fact I burned the crap out of my finger just the other day with one of those mini irons trying to make the cowboy hat for the mouse, LOL.

I think his jamies are just as cute as he is!! They are in the style of your work which enhances rather than taking the focus from the little fella and they really look like he's comfy in them.
ReplyDeleteAw, thanks guys!!! I guess the jammies look okay considering they aren't real. And I really don't think I could make actual little clothes that would look very good, plus I'd have a fit trying to make them whereas this was much simpler for me- I'm comfortable working with clay.
