Hubby put some kind of parental control code on my PlayStation which I hate, BUT because of this I was able to work on the mother mouse for a half scale "mouse house". She's huge compared to what I'm used to, measuring nearly two whole inches to the tip of her ears. I thought since she was larger, an apron would be simple to make. HA! NOPE! I was so grouchy and irritated while trying to make the apron that I literally scared my husband out of the apartment, LOL!
Puzzle Crap Furniture:
It makes it kind of difficult to make critters to a certain scale if you don't really have anything to use as reference. I can find miscellaneous objects around the house that may be close to the right height or width, but it's a pain in the butt. So when I found this "34 piece half scale furniture set" online for really cheap, and saw "Assembly required: NO", I was so excited I bought it right away. Well, I should have read the description a little more closely because it's actually just wooden puzzle pieces that fit together (or are supposed to fit together). I suppose they have potential. With a little glue, sanding, staining, upholstery, metal fixtures, ...... they may not be so bad. But I don't mind because I mainly just wanted them as a guide, and they are all in the proper half scale size. They were kind of fun to put together, but I have no idea where I'm going to keep all this crappy furniture.
So here's mama in the kitchen....
and in the dining room.....
and in the living room....
and in the master bedroom.....
and in the kid's bedroom.....
and the best of all, the bathroom with it's wooden toilet, LOL!
Her real home will be super cool. The house will be custom built as well as most of the furniture and accessories. Here's a link to Elly's blog which I am sure she'll update with photos of her mouse house in progress once it gets started. :D

She is so cute! You did a great job with the furniture.
ReplyDeleteVictoria ♥
She looks to be just the right size for the furniture. She is very cute, I love her apron.
ReplyDeleteThank G-d for parental controls... Tell hubby thank you from me! I thought we were going to have to send you to rehab to get you off play station. LOL
She is a lovely big mama, she seems happy with the furniture! It`s a good thing that i cannot play Tomb Raider on my laptop...
ReplyDeleteShe is so sweet - glad your husband put that control as I missed your animals ;D I have bought the same kind of furniture but in 1:12 scale lately so it is good to see them put together ;D They need a bit of work for sure:D
ReplyDeleteOHHHH I love your mouse !!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I read "Mouse House" I wondered if it was for Elly! Mouse is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHehehe, love the 'parental control' comment!
ReplyDeleteThe lady mouse is lovely, she's quite domesticated, isn't she?
We have a PS which has never seen a game - we use it as a media player :) This seems to confuse some young visitors. . .
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....I looooove your mama mouse !
ReplyDeleteGood that your hubby is taken control over you ((-;
Hugs,
Karin
Big mama is beautiful!!! She has a very sweet face!
ReplyDeletePlease give hubby a very big "Thank you" from me - I really have been waiting for you to put that playstation aside... It was really worth that cold turkey - the Big-Mama-Mouse is adorable as always. Your picture trail makes me think she's searching her children because they have to take their medicine... cod liver oil maybe, no surprise they're hiding.
ReplyDeleteGreetings
Birgit
It's good to see you back at work again...in any scale! Mamma Mouse looks great. Those electronic toys are real time suckers...your husband will make a good parent ;-)
ReplyDeleteAdorable! the furniture has rounded lines that to me are kind of Flintstonish. Maybe a Fred and Wilma family will do nicely :-)
ReplyDeleteKristy! Welcome back! Thank GOD for parental controls!
ReplyDeleteI love your little lady mouse! And the furniture looks really cute... precisely because it is all thick and wonky!
Love this lil mousie..so cute. HEY...I like the furniture...LOL!!! I see so much potential and ya gotta start somewhere...ri iight?
ReplyDeleteBeing an artist myself I understand that there has to be an outlet sometimes but ppplease..having to have the hubbikins put a parental control on it...LOL..that's just to funny. Ummmmmm..wait...maybe that's why I can't get our Wii to work..dang it!!
Hugs,
Regi
besitos ascension
When Guitar Hero was released--we got it for the kids ;)--I was a goner. It was role reversal...they would kick me off the Playstation!!
ReplyDeleteMama mouse is in perfect scale and looks great in her "made-in-grouchiness" apron :)
Kristy , she is LOOOOOOVVVVVLY!!!!!!!!! She will sure take to her new house like a mouse to pudding! I am sure she will be happy to cook in her kitchen-to-be.
ReplyDeleteI just hope Peter and Kate will send me some pics; they seem to be afraid to spoil the surprise, but believe me, as soon as I can, I will send some pics to you.
And tell your hubby he is a darling....:-)
Cheers,
Elly
THANKS, DEAR HUSBAND OF KRISTY! It was time to put an end to the unproductive time, so that we can see her wonderful critters again. It was like going on cold turkey for weeks! Perhaps you can "allow" Kristy 1 hour of playstation for every critter, she makes...... I hope this is the right stimulus for many, many, many more of the lovely sweeties. - YES, I know, Kristy - 1 hour is far too little, but perhaps you can find something like "Playstation Activists Anonymous" in your neighborhood.... lots of smiling best wishes Andrea
ReplyDeleteKristy!! I love the Mama Mouse! She is great and her apron came out wonderful!! Don't panic so much over clothing....you did great!!!! LOL @ your addiction! Too funny!!! Good to see you back creating again!!
ReplyDeleteHi Kristy! You know I find it hard to work in larger scale too, I think Mama Mouse is adorable! This furniture looks like it might have been a royal pain! The lock on the playstation can only bring us good things! haha That stuff is so adicting! I was stuck on the Wii for a couple of days, till my grandson took it to his moms house..good thing I would probably still be sitting there! ..getting my Mario killed..hahah Have a great week, glad to see you. xoxox Christel
ReplyDeleteWOW, you guys!!! It's so great to know you haven't all given up on my completely! Thanks so much for all the great comments about my mommy mouse. I'll be starting on the daddy mouse soon, so lets hope I don't crack my husband's game lock code before that, LOL. (kidding Elly, don't worry).
ReplyDeleteshe is soooo cuuuute !!

A very cute little mouse and the furniture is in the right scale for her. I saw some of these assembled furniture pieces painted and they look very different and much nicer.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why I keep missing your posts. They're not showing up in my feed. But I'm happy I checked. She's adorable. Lol at your sewing adventures1 It sounds like me when I get the sewing machine out :-)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! There's so little!
ReplyDeleteQue trabajos mas preciosos haces,felicidades!!!!
ReplyDeleteKristy, your Momma Mouse is adorable! You can obviously make anything in any scale. I expect there will be more orders for this scale in your future, especially when the daddy mouse joins mommy.
ReplyDeletelol! i bought this puzzle crap furniture when i was a kid, and my 'playtime' with them consisted of fixing up the pieces and promptly forgetting about them XD
ReplyDeleteyour momma mouse looks all ready to break in the new furniture! XD
