Newborn Bundle of Joy in a Shell

Just finished this little baby mouse sleeping in his shell... well not a real shell, a clay walnut shell crib / bassinet / cradle .... whatever you call a baby's bed thing.
And...........yep, that's about it. :-P
(I should be a writer, don't you think?)

Debbie!!!! I hope this means you are feeling better! :)
You guys, I WANTED to make a pacifier for him, in fact at first I wanted him to have one in his mouth. Then I was just going to make one to put in the bed. But I couldn't do it! :( I tried to make it out of clay and it didn't look right. Does anybody have any ideas?

  13. Yes, but they are not apt for publication , I am afraid:-)

  14. What sort of a pacificer did you try to make? I would think that the modern stlye ones would be very hard to do. The old style ones with the ring at the bottom, circle to stop the baby from swallowing it would be the easy one to make.

  16. Thank you so much Ewa, you're a sweetie! :)
Elly, ROFL - just what do you have in mind I wonder.
Catherine, I thought it would be easy too but when it comes to perfect circles I'm hopeless, and I don't have a round cutter small enough. Maybe some jewelry findings or beads may work somehow.

  17. His bed is a shell, what about finding a small, round seed shell of some sort for the dummy outer part, with a dried seed or berry for the sucking part. A piece of split raffia could tie it to his blanky.

Hey Catherine! A straw!!!! DUH! See, I knew you'd know what to do, LOL. I like your idea too Margaret! It would be cute to have an "organic" pacifier.
