Just a Sad Little Poem :((

I wish someone would tell me
What it is that I've done wrong.
Why do I have to stay chained up

And left alone so long?

They seemed so glad to have me

When I came here as a pup.

There were so many things we'd do

While I was growing up.

But now the Master "hasn't time"
The Mistress says I shed.

She doesn't want me in the house,
Not even to be fed.

The children never walk me.

They always say, "Not now".

I wish that I could please them.

Won't someone tell me how?

All I had, you see, was love-
I wish they would explain

Why they said they wanted mine,

And then left it on a chain.

This poem made me pull out a bunch of cat toys and play with my poor neglected kitties, LOL. I hope it will make others want to hug their furry little babies or play with them or take them for a walk or just pay a little extra attention to them.

  1. Oh, the poem makes me sad, it reminds me of the poor animals get no attention.
I love all animals (except wasps!) and bring even the earthworms in security lol

My dog Luna can not complain, thank God, she's extremely fastidious and the boss in the house .... haha

If you have a animal, it has not deserves without attention and love to live, because they give all the love back to you 10000000 times!

    Hugs,
    Karin

  2. I feel exactly the same way Karin!
Luna is one of the lucky ones to have such a loving family.

  3. I shall never understand people who adopt animals to treat(handle) them in this way, it is a shame .Un animal it is for the life.

  4. Breaks my heart every time I see pics of neglected or abused animals. When I do, I always have to give our Kobe a big hug...he pretty much has us wrapped around his paw!!

Kristy, I'm a big fan!!! Love all the "personalities" in your menagerie!! Thanks for comment on Kiva's blog...you're too kind...fellow status is far, far away!!!!

  5. This poem says it all. Why is it people can't understand the cruelty of abandoning a dog to a backyard? Dog is another way of spelling love.

Mind you, I could do without 6 long haired little 'loves' shedding their winter coats all over my bed etc. When I die they'll do an autopsy and find I died of hairballs!!

  6. I couldn't read all your poem Kristy as it makes me feel too sad. I often hear neighbour's dogs barking and know they are tied up and alone. People don't care that dogs are pack animals and need company. I think people should have to pass a test, the same as a driver's licence, to own a pet, and be checked up on regularly. That is what I hope will happen in the future.

  7. It is sad, and what is even sadder are those people that do much much worse things than just chain a dog up. There are sadistic and twisted people that torture and abuse animals. There is a site that lists the offenders (name, address, etc.) but I try not to go there because I get so angry I'm tempted to do something illegal, LOL. It's so maddening that the laws go so easy on them, it makes me want to go all vigilante on their asses, LOL.
Hey Alison!! Thanks a lot! I meant what I said, your miniature food is outstanding - especially for being a "newbie" at it.

  8. That poem says it all and it is so sad. Last night I got our little Maisey her winter bed out of the cupboard, it is so big and fluffy, that she sinks into it and it cocoons her, you just see her head poking out :) I'm so glad I did that now xxxx
