Hello and welcome, anybody who may come across this little blog of mine! I've just started this blog, and plan on focusing on miniatures, animals, and miniature animals. However, I'm also hoping it can be a fun place to talk about just about anything. We'll see.........

WHERE THE HELL IS IRA??
LOL, that's all! That's my post. I'm used to Ira (Merry Jingle Crafts) posting at least once a day and it's now been like a month. Anybody know if she's okay?
I've been wondering the same thing- I hope she just needs a break and nothing is wrong. Better yet- I hope she is on a fabulous vacation and nothing is wrong. Mainly I just hope nothing is wrong :(
Well I hope so too, about a week ago we were wondering about her with Sans. It is much too long break for her (or for us);) Hope she is ok but miss her and her posts and ideas.
I too have been wondering and miss her. Plus didnt know who to ask incase she was on holiday or something like that. Hope she is ok and will be back soon. Nikki xxx
Does anyone have her email address? I too have missed her lovely blog posts. Many comments have been left on her last post......I hope it's vacation time but feel she would have told us all.
Oh shit! I figured somebody would know something and tell me she was just on vacation. I sent her an e-mail about a week ago saying I was just wondering if she was okay, but never did hear back. Now I'm REALLY worried you guys!!!
I lost all my emails and cant figure out from my address book which is Iras so couldnt email her. Maybe she has no internet connection or something like that.
I have her e-mail address if you want it, just let me know. I hope it's computer problems or she needed a break or something like that, but I always think the worst. :(
Thank you but I have it and because she is not answering my e-mails, it made me worried too. I hope it is a computer problem. Pity we don't know her friends from Finland maybe they would know.
I emailed her early on. She told me every third person in Finland was really sick with it. I emailed her again a couple of weeks later and she has never responded. I am very worried!!!!!! She is such a whirl wind of energy I can't imagine her staying away from blogging.
Yes, I am alarmed too. It does not looks like Ira to go away without a word. And now I will write a letter because I have her address in Finnland. When I hear something I will post it.
Thanks Nina! If anybody hears anything, they should post it on their blogs in bold all capital letters. Damn, these weren't the comments I wanted to read.
OK...let us not panic. Yes, Nikki, if you have her snail mail address than write her a note. My quick research has confirmed what I had recalled about recent violent thunderstorms which have swept across Finland. Thousands, apparently, remain without power. I can tell you that in the aftermath of Hurricane Charley in 2004, my neighborhood was without electrical power for one month; longer for places just to my north.
Once power was restored, internet service was still patchy. We shall be positive and hope for the best. But how nice to see that so many are so concerned. Kinda warms the heart...
I reckon Susan is right. Not heard of those storms but if storms hit there then thats what it must be. Im not friends with ira on facebook. I have her mail address, should i write too?
YES Susan! I remember reading about that storm now that you mention it. Maybe that is why her phone is doing one ring then a busy signal. I feel better now. Thanks Susan!
We had a bad storm and my power was off for 5 weeks in 2003 in the middle of the summer here. OMG! What a nightmare that was.
Me too Catherine. I felt like this with Ernesto (blog: Punto Sur), who was MIA, and finally found out that he was in a car accident and had to have surgery, poor guy. He said it's hard for him to type so I can imagine he's not able to make minis either. I hope he's doing okay. Tabitha, I hope you're right. I'm a huge worry wart and tend to worry way more than I should.
Also - remember that phone tones are different worldwide - European ring tones sound like engaged signals where I live. And with internet phones the rules change yet again.
Yes, Nikki....mail the letter. TO those who haven;t heard about the storms, just Google "Finland Storms". The pictures are quite dramatic and they have had several. Kristy, I too had a friend who disappeared into cyberspace. She became was disabled and had to move from her home while it was being renovated. SHe did not know before she moved that she would not have any internet service at the respite house and she was gone for 3 months. I was sure she had died. I am very spoiled with my hi-speed broadband service but many people don't have that luxury.
I have send a message to Dale via FB to see if Ira has been on her FB page. MAybe I'll hear something.
Here is a link to read about that storm. It has photos and a video. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/article-1302088/Forty-people-injured-powerful-thunderstorm-batters-Finland.html
"She's been on facebook fairly regularly. Looks like yesterday was the most recent. Should I send her a message to inquire? I have her address around here some where, as she has purchased from me. dale :) "
Susan, I'm still certain a customer of mine must have died. She was a regular customer and I got to know her pretty well. Then suddenly I haven't heard a word from her in like five or six months, and no reply to my e-mails. I even checked the obituaries online but didn't find anything. I'm hoping it's the storm, I think she was in the Helsinki area. How badly was that affected?
I heard back from Dale. Ira has been on FB fairly regularly, as recent as yesterday. So apprently she is OK. No indication why she has dropped out of Blogland or not answering e-mails. Maybe e-mail address has changed?
I just sent Ira a brief message via FB saying that her Blogland friends were missing her and hoping she was well. Maybe she will answer. I'll let you know via blog post if I hear from her.
Thanks Susan, I can relax now. I just sent Ira an e-mail telling her she was in big trouble, LOL. Now that I know everything's fine, it's back to the miniature making for me.
Thats good news. Soemtimes peeps need to shut off. I do so now and again and dont even answer my phone. Glad to hear though she has been on fb. Lordy, we all sound like a pack of detectives, lol. Im off to do washing now i know she is ok. xxx
I guess we're all just waiting to hear from Tabitha (or Ira!!)now - seems extremely weird that Ira's apparently updating FB regularly and not answering emails from friends or blogging. Still, having said that she could be accessing FB from a mobile phone. Let's hope we hear something positive soon.
Creo que es la primera vez que me leo todos los comentarios. He ido alarmandome y alarmandome y despues al seguir leyendo ya me he relajado. Espero que sea un problema de la red. Es muy agradable ver el compañerismo y el cariño que tenemos entre nosotras. La amistad es la mejor medicina :) Besos Clara
I really thought I'd get one or two comments from somebody that would say something like...she's on vacation, how did you know that? LOL Sorry if I caused anybody to panic, I'm good at that. Like I said, I'm extremely good at worrying. I'm just glad she's alright.
I was very worried, too, but didn't want to say anything. I have people that know my passwords so that if something were to happen to me, they are supposed to post for me to let everyone know. I read where one person knew a gaming friend and he just quit posting and all his friends were worried. Then his son finally found his passwords and posted a message that he died of a heart attack. They all thought he was angry over losing a game. After that, I gave my passwords to a select few people I trust. I had one friend that used to create lots of printies and one day she just disappeared. Haven't heard from her since. . . a long time ago. Lainie
ok, not to make light of Ira being MIA, but sounds like she is ok, maybe she is using FB through her cell phone, and cant blog because of electricity outages or something. I am going to take a pee, and if you dont hear from me..I fell in! dont worry, I'm a good swimmer.xoxox Christel
Gracias a Dios que parece que esta bien. Esperemos que pronto se ponga en contato con alguna de todas. Es bonito ver las buenas amigas que se hacen en este mundo. Besitos, May
You are so funny. I can't wait to meet you in Chicago. BTW.... I don't think you should be embarrassed one little bit. We were all concerned and YOU had the guts to say something about it. We would all still be worried if it weren't for you. So... THANK YOU! BIG HUGS!
Thanks I guess. I kind of feel like I made a mountain out of a mole hill and caused some needless panic and worry in blogland, lol. But I guess now we know she's okay, thanks mostly to Susan and Dale. If she's been on facebook regularly, she can't be dead or in intensive care, right? :) I'm sure it has something to do with the power outages, but she's able to connect to facebook with her cell phone. Otherwise, I would think somebody would have received an e-mail back from her by now.
Kristy, can I just tell you I am so glad you made this post because I asked around and NOBODY knew what happened to her!!! At least , now I know she's on FB and is ok. Phew! I echo Catherine's sentiments . How can I worry for someone I have never met? But I do. I MIAed a while last year too but I posted a little and answered emails. I therefore completely understand how some of us may need to get away for a while. It's just that we have made many friends now and it will be good to at least let the our friends know we are ok. :):).
So if you ever go on vacation, please please LET US KNOW :). :).
This is Pip. Her mommy was trapped and killed when she was less than 3 weeks old and was left helpless and starving. She is just one of the many animals that have been given a second chance at life thanks to Rascal Rescue. You can check out "The Laughing Raccoon" Blog by clicking on the image. Read about the raccoon families and other critters and enjoy looking at photos of some of the cutest little animals, like Pip here. And if you'd like to help, you can make a donation by clicking on the donate button. Thank you everyone, and a big thanks to Deanna of Rascal Rescue for taking such good care of our furry friends.
I've been wondering the same thing- I hope she just needs a break and nothing is wrong. Better yet- I hope she is on a fabulous vacation and nothing is wrong. Mainly I just hope nothing is wrong :(
ReplyDeleteI do not know, but both are right. Hope is just vacation.
ReplyDeleteBlogland miss you Ira!!!!
Yo tambien la hecho de menos, estoy de acuerdo con Kim (espero que este de vacaciones)
ReplyDeletebesitos ascension

ReplyDeleteNow I'm REALLY worried you guys!!!
I lost all my emails and cant figure out from my address book which is Iras so couldnt email her. Maybe she has no internet connection or something like that.
ReplyDeleteI wrote to her two emails like almost 3 weeks ago and last week but no answer I am affraid.
ReplyDeleteI have her e-mail address if you want it, just let me know. I hope it's computer problems or she needed a break or something like that, but I always think the worst. :(
ReplyDeleteI have Ira's email address, I will email her too. :o))
ReplyDeleteMichelle xx
Thank you but I have it and because she is not answering my e-mails, it made me worried too. I hope it is a computer problem. Pity we don't know her friends from Finland maybe they would know.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to track down her telephone number. Maybe I'm worrying for nothing, but I need to know.
ReplyDeleteShe had the flu. It was pretty bad too.
ReplyDeleteI emailed her early on. She told me every third person in Finland was really sick with it. I emailed her again a couple of weeks later and she has never responded. I am very worried!!!!!! She is such a whirl wind of energy I can't imagine her staying away from blogging.
I think I've found her phone number. Should I call her? I don't know her all that well. I think I'm going to call anyway - shit. I'm scared.
ReplyDeleteGood luck fiver. Hope all goes well with your call.
ReplyDeleteHere goes.......
ReplyDeleteIt rings one time, and then it's like a busy signal. What the hell does that mean?????
ReplyDeleteBesides... She has five dogs a horse and children. I can't image she could go on a long holiday.
ReplyDeleteYes, I am alarmed too.
ReplyDeleteIt does not looks like Ira to go away without a word.
And now I will write a letter because I have her address in Finnland.

Thanks Nina!
ReplyDeleteIf anybody hears anything, they should post it on their blogs in bold all capital letters.
Damn, these weren't the comments I wanted to read.
Kristy I don't know what that means in Finland. Here (USA) it can mean the phone has been disconnected or out of order.
ReplyDeleteAre you sure you have the right phone number?
ReplyDeleteI tried several times but the same thing - not good.
ReplyDeleteIt's the phone number I found that matches her address, but maybe it's an old number.
Ladies, I was just thinking: is anyone of you on Facebook? Maybe she's got an account there? Maybe there anyone knows something?
ReplyDeleteOK...let us not panic. Yes, Nikki, if you have her snail mail address than write her a note. My quick research has confirmed what I had recalled about recent violent thunderstorms which have swept across Finland. Thousands, apparently, remain without power. I don't use Facebook. Damn I a starting to feel a little sick (with worry).
ReplyDeleteWho would have ever thought you would feel like this about someone you have never met that lives half way around the world? But I do.
I don't have facebook but I see Ira does. http://www.facebook.com/people/Ira-Martikainen-Os-Ignatius/1255160418
ReplyDeleteyes I see her. DAle is friends with her and I am friends with Dale so I'll ask.
ReplyDeleteI reckon Susan is right. Not heard of those storms but if storms hit there then thats what it must be.

I've been worried about Ira since she 'disappeared' - I have also written an e-mail, but no reply.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping like anything that she's ok. :[

Sometimes people just drop out of blogland....
Gosh... I didn't know he had a car accident Kristy. How awful!!!!!!! I hope he is recovering and will be OK.
ReplyDeleteYES Please do Susan. We would all like to hear something.
ReplyDeleteSusan, I'm still certain a customer of mine must have died. She was a regular customer and I got to know her pretty well. Then suddenly I haven't heard a word from her in like five or six months, and no reply to my e-mails. I even checked the obituaries online but didn't find anything.

ReplyDeleteBut now Ira's gonna get it from me for making us all worried sick, LOL.
Just to reiterate:
ReplyDeleteI heard back from Dale. Ira has been on FB fairly regularly, as recent as yesterday. So apprently she is OK. No indication why she has dropped out of Blogland or not answering e-mails. Maybe e-mail address has changed?
I agree with Susan, if she's been on FB then she's okay. Peeps do just drop out of blogland for no reason.
