As most of you know, Margaret of My Petit Parterre was the winner of my blog give-away. Her animal choice was a raccoon, partly because there aren't any raccoons in Australia where she lives. I promised Margaret I'd make a little koala teddy bear to keep him company on his long journey. I also told her I thought I'd be finished in about 3 days (oops). But your raccoon is getting there Margaret - he's in the furring stage!! In the meantime, I thought I'd post a sneak peek at his accessories. This was the first koala I've made, he's only about 1 centimeter tall. The next koala I make I'm sure will be quite a bit larger.

wow, so cute Fiver. I'm officially blind now from trying to see this itty bitty! Awesome!! xoxo Christel
ReplyDeleteHe is just adorable! I can't believe how tiny he is! I am looking forward to seeing the raccoon too.
ReplyDeleteThank you Christel and Catherine. Christel, I seriously think I'm going blind from making these itty bitties, lol. But, the furring of the raccoon isn't the most fun thing to do, so making the little koala and suitcase gave me a bit of a reprieve. Now back to the raccoon, lol.
ReplyDeleteHe's so cute, and looks very authentic (and with hosting lots of overseas students and taking them to the animal park on a regular basis you can be sure I've seen my fair share of the real thing!). Love the little suitcase :)
ReplyDeleteOh, wonderful work, the little koala is incredible :)
ReplyDeletehow tiny , how cute! Incredible work!
ReplyDeleteQue pequeñin tan sinpatico!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is totally unbelievable! I would like to take a peek at you while you manage to bring these tiny little fellows to life. How can you do this - in this "size"! Oh, I can't wait to see the whole scene.
ReplyDeleteOh I am SOOOOOOOOO jealous! :)
ReplyDeleteGosh he's so sweet!
ReplyDeleteOkay - I cried the whole night because I didn't won the racoon (okay, perhaps I overacted a little bit.... - and perhaps it's just a shameless lie...), but I don't live in Australia and this supersupercute Koala wouldn't have been born, if I'd won the giveaway. So I'm very happy as it is. I'm looking forward to see his pal.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much guys! I hope Margaret will like it. :)
ReplyDeleteNorma, how fun! I bet those kids are thrilled to get to see the real thing. I would love to as well - they are such adorable cuddly looking animals.
Birgit, when I make something this small it's not a pretty sight (usually a lot of cussing going on, LOL).
Deanna, LOL. Some day I'm going to have to make you a little raccoon because after all, you ARE the "crazy raccoon lady", hahaha.
Andrea, LOL. Please don't say things like you cried, even in jest! I already feel guilty enough for only having one winner, lol. But I'm glad you like the little koala teddy bear.
ReplyDeleteWow, he is amazingly cute! You are so clever, I can understand why you've decided to make them a bit larger in future, must be so fiddly to make but he looks perfect.
ReplyDeleteI had a couple of days off blogging, out on Friday, headache yesterday and found so many great posts to catch up on.
Aaaawww, what a lovely little koala and his suitcase....Adorable!
