I wonder...Oooooooooh, I just thought of something! I wonder if you used the tissue or crepe paper to make the little clothes but then coat the paper clothes with translucent liquid clay. I wonder if that would protect it and prevent it from getting ripped or torn.
Occasionally I've made paper accessories (for example a miniature newspaper), and I brushed the liquid clay on both sides of it and cured it in the oven. I don't know for sure if that made it stronger or protected it, but it didn't seem to hurt it any either.
Anybody have an opinion on this? :-/Fiverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17581249151616948681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3076386395206994480.post-90888387539250334802010-12-09T13:55:34.396-08:002010-12-09T13:55:34.396-08:00Kristy, she is sweeeeet and I think both you and s...Kristy, she is sweeeeet and I think both you and she should be very pleased with her dress. I doubt whether it would be a good idea to use fabric- even ribbon- ,let alone paper( I think you are right ,it might become fragile after even a short while)- and besides, you are both comfortable and clever with clay- so why not stick to that?elly in amsterdamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13483698199659793893noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3076386395206994480.post-44985808846180609562010-12-09T11:20:54.276-08:002010-12-09T11:20:54.276-08:00Again so very sweet and cute so lovely.

Great tips! Now you'...Wow, thanks everybody!!! Great tips! Now you've got me wanting to try again, and last night I swore I never would, LOL.
Catherine, with clay it's easy (well, actually it was a PITA but easy compared to fabric). I use a pasta machine to make a very thin and even sheet. You can texture it by pressing a piece of fabric into it and rolling it through the machine, and you can use "pearl" colored clay to mix with other colors which makes it look sort of like satin. Then you can manipulate it by using a needle to fold or crease, etc. Does this make sense??
Ok, I keep hearing about paper clothes and I'm really curious! It seems paper would be so delicate it would tear or rip, or that it wouldn't "age" well and become very fragile after a while. I don't get it!! But I want to! Does anybody know where I could see some mini paper clothes online somewhere?Fiverhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17581249151616948681noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3076386395206994480.post-16267954423177793362010-12-09T08:47:34.756-08:002010-12-09T08:47:34.756-08:00Such a sweet little bunny........!!!!!!!!!

Very thin cotton lace works too. You can also paint it to make it not fray. I love what you do with the clay. You get all of the realism and details in the clothing.
Thanks for sharing your wonderful creations.
Lots of XXX MorenaMorena Ciambra Dreamartdollshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01254000721986378386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3076386395206994480.post-6277204690831353952010-12-09T07:40:08.361-08:002010-12-09T07:40:08.361-08:00She looks so cute and her dress looks wonderful.

But little dresses are always something to heighten the blood pressure. When you use ribbons - make sure, they are real silk. They are smooth enough. Synthetic ribbons are too unwieldy.
